Government PO'S Welcome

What are TASERS?

·         TASERS are non-lethal electroshock devices for self defense purposes only that disrupt the body’s neuromuscular systems using electrical currents.

·         With any TASER if used for self defense and you leave it behind to flee, file a police report and send a copy to TASER International and they will replace your TASER for free.

Is it legal carry TASERS?

·         If you’re over 18 years of age you can carry TASERS legally in 43 states. TASERS are restricted in these states DC, HI, MA, MI, NJ, NY, RI and WI, and in these cities Annapolis, Baltimore, Chicago, and Philadelphia. There are special restrictions in Connecticut and Illinois. Always consult your local authorities prior to purchasing a TASER in your area if you are unsure about their legality. Back ground checks for a fee are necessary to activate them.

·         You may not carry TASERS in court rooms, some government buildings and some schools. When traveling by air plane your TASERS would have to be in your checked lugged.

How do TASERS work?

·         TASERS don’t rely on pain compliance like a typical stun gun. They use an inert compressed nitrogen gas that projects out two probes (darts) to a length of 15 feet at 160 feet per second.  Electric pulses run from the TASER down insulated wires to the probes where they make contact with the cloths or body of an assailant resulting in the instant failure of their neuromuscular control. This takes all their coordination away for the duration of the pulse giving you the opportunity to flee. It doesn’t matter where you hit the body the affect is the same. After being fired the TASER works like a Stun gun.

Do TASERS work on animals?

·         TASERS weren’t designed with that in mind and are specifically targeted for the human nervous system; however TASERS have been shown to work on dogs. TASERS where designed  with over under probes for vertical targets so you would have to turn the TASER sideways in order to hit an animal effectively with both probes . I won’t recommend this product for protection against animals.

Do TASERS leave any long term effect?·          Studies have shown that TASER devices in and of them self’s cause no long term effects in fact (a January 1987 Annals of Emergency Medicine study reported that similar TASER technology leaves no long-term injuries compared with 50% long term injuries for gunshot injuries.)·         When a TASER hits a person they lose control of all neuromuscular abilities momentarily dropping them to the ground and leaves them feeling dazed for a few seconds, however recovery takes place the moment the pulses stop.

Taser Benefits

Taser Benefits

Safety
TASER devices can stop threats from up to 15 ft. (4.5 m). Or, you can use the TASER device as a contact stun device - a powerful backup capability. In field uses by law enforcement against dangerous suspects, TASER technology has among the lowest injury rates of any force option. However, TASER devices are not risk free and may cause injuries, primarily from falls or physical exertion. Use of TASER devices should not be undertaken lightly. Detailed product warnings are available. Learn more.
Effectiveness
A hit anywhere on the body can be effective with the TASER device, making it easier to use and more reliable under stress than any other use-of-force option.

TASER energy weapons are field proven up to 95% effective in actual police use - the highest of any similar device. TASER International makes the only device that can truly incapacitate people under the influence of PCP and other dangerous drugs. Further, a hit anywhere on the body can be effective, making it easy to use and more reliable under stress.
Easy To Use
TASER technology has been available to citizens concerned with self-defense for over a decade. Unlike conventional weapons, TASER devices are effective with a hit anywhere on the body. To be effective for self-defense, bullets risk more lethal consequences, striking the head or vital organs. Similarly, chemical or pepper sprays must hit an assailant in the face - a much less reliable alternative in fast moving confrontations. And, in a windy environment, sprays can be blown back onto the user.

TASER Personal Protection Devices can be used more effectively and reliably than many other self-defense technologies.
Legal To Carry In Most States
TASER devices are not considered firearms by the US Government. They can be legally carried (concealed or open) without permit required in 43 states. Prohibited citizen use in DC, HI, MA, MI, NJ, NY, RI, WI, certain cities and counties. CT and IL are legal with restrictions. Check local laws before purchasing or carrying electronic control devices.
Responsible
We are committed to doing the most we can to prevent potential misuse of our products.

Accordingly, we have developed an advanced TASER device tracking program called AFID (Anti-Felon Identification). Our AFID program enforces accountability for each use of the TASER device and has worked successfully for over a decade with citizen sales.

Each TASER Cartridge sold for use with the TASER device has a unique serial number. This serial number is printed in a bar code format on the back of each TASER Cartridge. At the time the probes are packed into each TASER Cartridge, approximately 20-30 pieces of film printed with the serial number of that TASER Cartridge are loaded behind them. When the TASER C2 is deployed, these AFID tags are dispersed at the scene. The large number of AFIDS and their small size makes it impractical to clean up. When police are called to investigate any TASER device use, they can find these tags and contact TASER International for a complete trace on the serial number.

All shipments from TASER International are entered into our shipment tracking system we know where every TASER Cartridge we ship goes.

The AFID program was developed and implemented by TASER International at our own cost. It is not required by law; we think it's the right thing to do.

No other weapon in the world - guns, knives, chemical and pepper sprays, electronic defense units, or batons - can be traced from evidence at the scene of the crime to the registration of the user. It all comes back to responsibility.
Lifetime Replacement Guarantee
If a TASER Personal Protection Device is used in self-defense, it can be deployed and left behind attached to the attacker causing incapacitation while you get to safety. Send us a copy of the police report documenting the incident and we can replace your unit free of charge.
Your life is worth more to us than the cost of a TASER device.

MODERN SELF-DEFENSE:

San Francisco police are considering purchasing Taser stun guns for use by patrol officers. A newer, more powerful version for police use is also available. The Taser available to the general public is less powerful and has a shorter firing range.

The weapon:

 Maximum range: 21 feet
Weight: 18 ounces (including batteries and power cartridge)
Probe speed: 180 to 200 feet per second
Power: 26 watts of electric pulses can penetrate 2 inches of clothing
A   Digital microprocessor
B   Safety
C   Battery indicator
D   Dataport: (records firing time and date)
E   Batteries: (one set of batteries provides about 90 five-second cycles)
F   Built-in laser sight
G   Disposable cartridge uses compressed nitrogen to launch probes up to 21 feet.
H   High voltage insulated wire
I   Probe (actual length)
J   Probe attaches to clothing. In the newest version of Taser's technology (X26),  the probe releases a "shaped" charge, which uses a small part of its high voltage    charge to penetrate the clothing. The remainder of the electrical charge is then
directly released throughout the victim's nervous system and body where it has
    been involved in fatalities.

How it works

1. Probe fired by compressed nitrogen.
2. Electrical impulses, 15 to 20 per second, overpower sensory and motor nerves.
3. Person targeted loses neuromuscular control. Shocks last about five seconds and can be readministered.
Optimum range: 7 to 10 feet (advanced tasers effective up to 21 feet)
Recovery time varies by individual — generally several minutes
